Adventure Courses Throughout Scotland

Mucky Adventures delivers outdoor and extreme sports facilitation designed around the unique needs of each participant, with an emphasis on fun!

We offer tailor-made individual or group experience in Outdoor Activities, and we also offer Team Building facilitation for your business. We have some preferred venues, but offer all our activities in appropriate locations throughout Scotland.

We offer a range of Outdoor and extreme sports activities, and have particular experience in teaching:

• Kite Land boarding
• Climbing
• Hill walking

Whatever your requirements, Mucky Adventures can help you achieve your goal. Before you book we will discuss your objectives and what we can deliver for your unique day. Treat our website as a guideline, you are in control!

All courses are structured learning experiences. We help participants to reflect upon what they have learned by analysing performance and identifying points for future improvement. To assist you develop further and faster we have the option of video analysis (on technical skills courses) and video reviewing (on team building sessions), in addition to many other reviewing techniques.

Our Extreme DVD package is offered as an option. Mucky Adventures will film your adventure, set it to a soundtrack of your choice, and you (or your group) are the star cast!

Introduction to Mountain Biking

This is where your Mountain bike journey begins! On this day we will be staying pretty much on the blue routes at Glentress.

On the introductory course you will learn:

• Setting up your bike for optimum control / performance
• The basics involved with riding Mountain Bikes off road
• Useful handling techniques to speed your progress to more advanced Mountain Biking

The introductory course is bang on for people looking to get a sound grounding on which to develop their confidence.

Start @ 10am, finish @ 4pm

Cost: £80 full day (group basis)

Trail Riding

This course is aimed at Intermediate to Advanced riders who want to develop their MTB riding to the next level.

Participants should be physically fit, and be starting to ride on red routes. On the Trail Riding course you will be shown the following riding techniques:

• Track stands
• manuals
• rock steps
• drop offs
• jumps

As our base for the course is at Glentress (arguably the finest mountain bike centre in Europe!) we have numerous trails which can be ridden to encounter these skills. Your guide for the day has an in-depth knowledge of the location, and can show you some sweet spots for riding!

Start @ 10am, finish @ 4pm

Cost: £80 full day (group basis)

Introduction to Power Kiting

This course is aimed at those entering the power kiting world for the first time. The day will be action packed! Having an instructor means you will be learning top tips from a proffessional, in a safe, fun environment.

Your session will include kite safety, kite setup and launch of kites, use of lines, 'the wind window', body position and edging.

Cost: £50 half day/ £100 full day

Kite Land Boarding

This is the next step up for those wishing to enter into the exciting traction kiting side of the sport. Why not make it a two day course if you are new to kiting?

This course will focus on stepping on the board, riding the board downwind and upwind, turning, and possibly jumping.

Cost: £50 half day/ £100 full day/ £200 two day course

Kiting courses take place in St Andrews, Belhaven Bay, Guillane Beach, and Troon.

Introduction to Climbing

In Introduction to Climbing we cover how to climb safely, belaying, basic movement and knots.

Cost: £80 a day group basis (poa for individual).

Hill Walking / Navigation

This covers navigation, surrounding environment, hill safety and weather watch.

Cost: £80 a day group basis (poa for individual).

PROFESSIONAL

Our professional courses are totally flexible to your needs. Previous sessions have ranged from a residential highland games set within a historic castle in Scotland, complete with ceilidh function in the evening, to an hours session focusing on different leadership styles and group dynamics.

These courses not only use the outdoors and its wealth of learning opportunites, but also music (through group drumming workshops), and animation (through modelling and videoing).

Mucky Adventures has developed 'video reviewing', a totally unique form of reviewing whereby participants are able to reflect upon their experiences through a visual, and active medium.
